My name is Kevin Roberts, and I am a photographer currently studying for a Master’s degree in Photography. Over time, photography has become far more than simply taking pictures; it has become a way of understanding people, places, and experiences through observation, connection, and storytelling. The work featured throughout this site is built around three themes — Music, Faces, and Places — each reflecting the experiences, individuals, and environments that continue to inspire me both creatively and personally.
Throughout my work, the aim is not just to document a moment, but to capture the atmosphere, emotion, and personality that made that moment meaningful in the first place. Whether photographing live music, portraits, or stunning locations, I am drawn to honest moments and genuine human connection. Some of the most rewarding experiences have come through meeting new people, hearing their stories, and creating photographs that feel authentic to who they are.
Building trust with those I photograph is an important part of my process. Spending time getting to know people often shapes the final image just as much as composition or lighting. This personal approach keeps my work grounded in real experiences and emotions rather than in staged moments alone.
Studying at Master’s level continues to challenge and develop both my creative practice and the way I think about photography. It has encouraged me to reflect on my own identity as a photographer while continuing to grow in confidence, curiosity, and direction.
